Everything You Learned — In Plain Language

Look at how far you've come. When you started this course, 'AI work tool' might have sounded complicated or like something only big companies use. Now you know exactly what it is, what it can do, and how to set it up.

Here's every term you encountered — with a plain-language reminder of what it means.

Your Glossary

Claude

The AI assistant made by Anthropic. The 'brain' inside Cowork.

Cowork mode

A special way of running Claude that gives it tools to work with your files and apps.

Workspace folder

The folder on your computer you share with Claude. It reads and saves files there.

Session

One working conversation with Claude. Your workspace keeps the context.

Natural language

Plain English — the way you'd write a message. No special commands needed.

Prompt

The message or instruction you send to Claude. Clear and specific works best.

Context

Background information that helps Claude understand your situation and business.

Iteration

Going back and forth to improve something — 'make it shorter', 'change the tone'.

Skill

An add-on that gives Claude specialised abilities for a specific task or tool.

Plugin

A bundle of skills, connectors, and settings you can install as one package.

Connector

A link between Claude and an external tool — Gmail, Odoo, Google Calendar, etc.

MCP (Model Context Protocol)

The technical standard that makes connectors work securely.

Integration

When two tools are set up to work together and share information.

OAuth

A secure way to give one app access to another — without sharing your password.

API

A secure channel that allows two software systems to communicate.

Automation

When a computer completes a task automatically, without manual input.

Scheduled task

A job set up to run automatically at a specific time or on a schedule.

Recurring

Something that repeats on a regular schedule — daily, weekly, monthly.

Trigger

The condition that starts a task — a time, or an event like receiving an email.

Workflow

A series of steps that happen in sequence, often automatically.

Research preview

An early version of a product — available to use, but still being improved.

You didn't just learn a list of terms. You now know how to talk about AI tools confidently, set up your own workspace, connect the tools you already use, and automate the tasks that slow you down.

You actually know what people are talking about now.

And that's not a small thing — it means you can make decisions about AI tools with confidence.
